Rural office with organized files

Entry No. 001 — Our Story

A Small Office That Takes Records Seriously

We have been helping households and local businesses put their paperwork in order in St-André-Avellin for many years. The work is quiet, practical, and neighbourly.

How We Got Here

Robert & Associés Notaires Inc was established to fill a specific gap that came up repeatedly in the Outaouais region: households that had important documents but no reliable way to find them when they needed to. Files were spread across kitchen drawers, boxes in closets, and old envelopes without labels. The need was not for a legal opinion — it was for someone to sit down and help build a system.

Over time, the same kind of question started arriving from brokerage teams. Real estate transactions generate a repeating set of documents, and without a shared process, small teams were handling them differently from agent to agent. That inconsistency created unnecessary work during every handover. The Property Paperwork Checklist Program came out of conversations with those teams.

The Estate Terminology Series grew from community groups asking for something more structured — not individual guidance, but a plain explanation of the vocabulary that appears in wills, property transfers, and public records. Most people encounter this language once or twice in a lifetime and have no frame of reference for what it means.

All three programmes are educational and practical in nature. We do not assess individual legal situations or provide professional advice on personal matters. What we offer is clear, organized information and systems that households and teams can maintain on their own.

How We Work

Defined Scope

Every programme has a written scope before any session begins. You know what is included and what falls outside the programme, so there are no surprises.

Information Handled Carefully

Session notes and contact details are kept only as long as needed to deliver the programme and follow-up support. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing.

Educational, Not Advisory

All content is general and educational. We explain how records work, not how to handle any one person's affairs. This boundary is observed throughout every session.

Practical Materials

Every session includes printed or digital take-home materials. Systems are designed to be maintained without professional support between review dates.

Written Follow-Up

The Realtor Team programme includes 45 days of written follow-up so questions that arise during the first live uses can be addressed without scheduling a new session.

Locally Rooted

We work within the Outaouais region. Sessions reflect the kinds of property and family documents that actually circulate in rural Québec communities.

What Guides the Way We Work

Document systems work best when they are simple enough to use without thinking about them. We spend time at the start of each session understanding how a household or team already handles paper — what gets filed, what gets stacked, what gets lost — before suggesting any change.

The sessions we offer are sized to match real circumstances. A two-hour appointment for a household does not demand preparation or expertise. A three-week programme for a brokerage team fits within normal working schedules without disrupting active transactions.

The Estate Terminology Series was built for people who encounter the language of property and family records occasionally and want a reliable frame of reference. The four parts cover vocabulary, document numbering and dating conventions, who typically holds which records, and how public registries are structured — all using fictional examples.

Our community context matters to how we work. St-André-Avellin is a small municipality in the Petite-Nation region of Québec. The questions we hear from local households and brokerage offices are shaped by that setting, and our programmes are built around those questions.
